Aoun: Just spill it out

I mean yesterday's speech was clearly an 8th of March. Aoun why not spill it out you are a Pro-Syrian... heck having Talal Irslan speaking at your "event"?

Interesting...

I think you should not be dragged into using such nationalist rhetoric. Pro-Syrian? Umm, I don't think so! Anyway, what if he's pro-Syrian? What does pro-Syrian mean anyway? This is all empty rhetoric, and we can all thank March 14 (Hariri clan's subsidiary) for creating it.

I don't agree with their platform, but still, to accuse them of being "pro-Syrian" has a really strange, if not nationalist, feel to it.

Nationalist? I doubt that... Pro-Syrian yes, just as Rice is touring the gulf begging support for Seniora yes....

14th of March = 8th of March = greedy people making money on the expense of the Proletariat

Nothing nationalist, just sick of the FPM saying they are not in the "Syrian block" just as Mr. Seniora argues he is not in the "US block"

Specially UNIFIL has new changes of policies within inside Lebanon

I think you missed the point of my comment. I was merely pointing to the accusation you directed at Aoun, namely "pro-Syrianism". I think that term "pro-Syrian" is first of all a product of the March 14 nationalist (racist) forces. Such all-encompassing terminology has legitimized violence against anything and everything Syrian inside Lebanon. Or did you miss the unreported attacks on Syrian workers? Do these poor workers fall in that category?? Is defending their rights and criticizing their murderers pro-Syrian?

And why do you make it look as if I am defending 8th of March? And why do you always return to the 8th and 14th of March divisions? Why aren't you over and above them already?!

Aoun is not in the Baathist bloc (this is the correct term that should be used, instead of "Syrian bloc"). You ought to read events and speeches at more than face value, and ought to completely stop listening to March 14ite accusations (they do get to one's head if one listens to them often enough).

I would argue that Aoun is equidistant from both the Baathist and U.S policies vis-a-vis Lebanon.

Anyway, you ought to get yourself out of this March 14 vs. March 8 mess. Really, there is a world outside it. Let us not categorize people in March 8 and March 14 merely because they utter something you don't like and which "smells like" March 8. Aoun is not March 8 and never will be. Now we can criticize marriages of convenience and all that, but that still won't change the point, that your accusation is WAY OFF. Actually, I would, for example, criticize HezbAllah's silence on the internal security forces' massacre of poor civilians, which has aroused more anger in Aounist/FPM circles than in H.A leadership circles. Now this does not necessarily mean that these people care about the poor and their rights so much but you gotta give credit where credit is due.

For me, as I mentioned it a zillion times, I am WAY over 14th and 8th of March. When they get Talal Irslain to speak at Aoun's main speech, then this is the same block. I never trust his speeches (well 80% is about himself) and I am sure as hell if I will trust a person who is willing with the devil (well devil to be defined) to get the presidential chair. Having el Murr, Irslain, Frangieh as allies, along with the Syrian Social Nationalist party and the rest just defines his stand.

I simply hate people who fake things, and they all do over here in Lebanon. Don't you think Wahhab or Attallah deserve the Academy award? What about Junblatt or the rest?

I sure do not see any reference to the FPM circles being more pissed off, rather I see a politician dragging activists to his own political game which ends with the 8th of March block.

PS: They are all dragging the Proletariat to their own private interest.
