Despite the fact most of the bloggers disagree with what he writes, and some go labeling his writings as unacceptable, we all agree at least the person has the write to express his thoughts in the name of Freedom of Expression.

ofcourse freedom to abdulkarim because i believe in the freedom of speech. bas i have to say that this guy is a bahleh that knows nothing and says rubbish.
you can read his posts to see how shallow he is.
news have been circulated that he has done many things in order to get "lojou2 siyeiseh". lawyers were trying to help him and he was intending to make things difficult by his declarations.
bas again it is husni mbarak and azhar.
it is not sufficient to talk in an unusual way about a religion to make sense. your argument must make sense. this is not found in kareem's writings which clearly are done to make a fuss no more.

I agree 100% with what you said Hillz... few comrades told me as well about his posts, but even in Tehran they didn't slam a blogger for 4 years. (heaviest arrests there took place during the Students' Apprisals activisms)...

it is a bit picky when it comes to egyptian blogosphere. I followed this blogosphere since long time ago.
a joke (that happened): employees of al ahram newspaper at a certain time couldn't access the egyptian blogs, because blogspot and manalaa.net (egyptian aggregator and winner of moraseeleen bil 7odoud award) were disabled.
it is weird.
some bloggers are trying to present an "alternative journalism" or at least criticize some taboos.
there is a sort of a "social and political movement". but it will take long time to see some change.
I don't know but often wonder if we are doing any good at all. Of course there is ego massage in what we do. There always is. Everybody has one. They are hard to hold down. We think we've tamed them, but they find cracks and can be seen creeping through by all but ourselves. Sometimes they take over completely, leaving us the only ones unaware they have. It is recognition of the egos at our sides that cause us wonder if we doing no more than playing with ourselves or moving a world beyond. We like to tell ourselves there is external reason for our efforts, that of having some effect on others and events yet to be. Yet, we wonder. That those with power we oppose take steps to stand in the way, tells that they've done more than wonder. Instead, they've concluded the effects we question are real and dangerous to them. Their efforts to impede should be taken as encouragement to continue with realization we hold more power than them. Let us keep using it.
So the guy says nonesense on his blog, thats not enough reason to put him away. Egypt is ruled thorugh a dictartorship, no doubt about it.

Jade, we all agree. Actually Egypt's dictators caused the Muslim Brotherhood to rise after Sadat unleached them on the left.
Moubarak is a hypocrite, he refused to kick out the Israeli ambassador when Lebanon as being bombarded. Now they made this blogger a "Mounadil"
